School Moments Program
Are your students good writers?
School Moments is a unique writing initiative program developed for elementary and middle school students. Using this program, students solicit subscribers among family and friends, and help their teachers and administrators author custom newsletters which are sent out via email.
Schools, single classrooms and entire school districts can use the School Moments program as a class project, as a high-tech newsletter, as a community relations tool and/or as a fund-raiser/ capital campaign tool.
How does it work?
- It's a Web-based publication software
- Schools sign up and get a username and password
- Monthly hosting fee is based on number of students
- Students/ parents submit email addresses of potential subscribers
- Subscribers respond to invitations
- Schools can charge for subscriptions or make payment optional
- Students complete writing assignments online and younger students get help from teachers, parents or older computer buddies.
- Pictures can be attached to student, teacher and administrative articles.
- Custom newsletters are created for each subscriber using their student(s)' articles and pictures.
- Newsletters are send out by email (pdf attachments) on the publication dates set by the school.
School Moments is a powerful and innovative web-based technology for classrooms, student groups, schools or school districts/organizations. The program helps students sign up their friends and family to receive a newsletter that they participate in creating. The program automatically formats and sorts articles and pictures from a variety of potential sources (students, parents, volunteers, teachers, administrators), creates a custom newsletter for each of your subscribers and sends it via email (PDF).
Friends, family, out-of-town relatives and especially grandparents love reading the adorable contributions that children of all ages can make, being connected to the child's life and seeing the candid pictures that may be included.
No other program is so easy to use, creates a supportive audience for the student, promotes creative writing, simplifies a publication process, garners community support for your school and can raise money.
